In the first Twenty20 International, the Ugandan women's cricket team defeated the Nepali women's cricket team by a score of 12 runs. Nepal, who had set a goal of 103 runs for the victory, could score only 90 runs after losing 9 wickets throughout their innings.
The beginning of Nepal's history was not a happy one. Both openers, Bindu Rawal and Jyoti Pandey, were dismissed in their respective innings. Jyoti scored six runs off seven balls with one four, while Bindu scored twelve runs off of twenty-three balls. Even though she faced 22 balls, Captain Ruvina Chhetri was only able to score 9 runs. In the 12th over, Nepal's score was at 44-4 after Apsari Begum had been unable to score more than one run.
Both Kavita Joshi and Roma Thapa were dismissed in the fourth and fifth innings. Dolly Bhatt hit two fours and drove in 13 runs while facing 10 balls. Mbabaji and Kevin Avino combined for a score of 46 runs for the second wicket. Avino was given the walking penalty by the captain, Ruvina Chhetri. Franklin Najumba was responsible for scoring 12 runs. In the course of 13 balls, Rita Nyangendo hit 1 four and 1 six.
